All winter and summer long, she wore only leather brogues
The girl loved them beyond all other shoes
Her mother despaired and tried to tempt her into girly sandals but the girl was having none of it
However over the years the girl grew up
Over the years, the girl moved away from her first love
Until, one day, the girl, now middle aged, had almost forgotten her overwhelming love of brogues
