more , more, more, shoes, shoes, shoes..........
The clay and steel shoe gallery. Steel cabinets with cracked clay shelves and red velvet cinema seats, I think this is my fav space so far.
cool seats huh?
A subtle detail to the perimeter shelving, looks soft but it is as hard as steel
Cracked clay surfaces allow the shoes to shine
This room has some cool brands like Acne and Belstaff and some crap brands. If you ever see me in a pair of Stuart Weitzman shoes, even when I am 85, shoot me!
mmmm, be still my beating heart.... it is Acne
this is another room that makes some shit shoes look great, except some are sooo shit, it doesn't quite stretch to the likes of Stuart Weitzman.
More new shoe glory...the story continues
the oak room - the room that makes shit shoes look great
Having said that, not all the shoes in this room are shit. Afterall only yesterday, I found myself looking rather longingly at a pair of Nicole Fahri brothel creepers |
Heartwarming, comforting, warm and reassuringly solid
Through the space are placed some achingly large solid oak blocks and pewter has been poured into every crack in the wood. It is a heartwarming combination of matierials.
new shoes glory
The new shoe galleries at Selfridges have opened and as the Telegraph said, cut up your credit cards and if you remotely have a shoe thing, do not come near them! There will be 6 rooms of shoes, glorious gravity defying, wallet stretching, credit card banning, shoes. |
these spaces make all the shoes within them, drool worthy objects of lust
which do you worship more, the painted white Anne Demeulemeester high top trainers or the vein defying alabaster stone plinth they sit on?
wait until this opens.....the holy grail (for those that way inclined, I'm more a Margielaist myself)
Tactile in all details, this room has the palest peachy skin soft suede cladding the walls and till
look at that glowing translucent alabaster, which do you yearn to touch and caress more, the shoes they hold or the glorious cold pale stone
